Whom We Help

The Club focuses its support on Oakville’s not-for-profit organizations providing assistance to those in our community with the greatest needs.  Often our funding is directed to associations and charities which do not otherwise receive significant support from outside the community.

 

Recent support has included:

 

Camp Trillium(for children with cancer and their suporting parents)
Canadian Mental Health Association, Halton Region 
CNIB, Halton/Peel District 
Community Living Oakville(supporting people with developmental disabilities  in our community)
Food For Life 
Ian Anderson House(Oakville's only cancer hospice providing end-of-life care)
Mom's Camp(Easter Seals retreat to provide respite for moms caring for handicapped kids)
Halton Women's Place(shelter and crisis services for abused women and their children)
Kerr Street Ministries

(giving hope and support to Oakville's neediest families and children)

March of Dimes(targeted support to help purchase motorized wheelchairs)
Oakville Distress Centre(helping those in crisis)
Reach Out Centre for Kids(formerly Halton Child & Youth Services)
Student Scholarships(offered to each high school for their students demonstrating volunteerism)
Salvation Army 
Toronto Lung Transplant Civitan Club(temporary home for those awaiting lung transplant out of region)
White Oaks Secondary School  Futures Program

(donated two electronic SMART Boards for special education classes)

 

The club typically donates about $40,000 annually.
